![]() | It should come as no surprise that international travel requires a valid U.S. Passport. What might surprise you is the time it can take to obtain one if you don't already have it. Because of new rules requiring a passport for air travel between the U.S., Canada and Mexico, as well as an impending rule change that will also require the document to cross the Mexican and Canadian border on the ground, the U.S. Passport Agency has been experiencing extreme delays in processing passport applications. Some people have reported up to a six-month turn around time from the date they submitted their application. Long story short...if you don't already have a passport, you *must* submit your application as soon as possible.
